Patch Project Pack

We miss seeing you and your children each week for our creative and playful sessions, so we have created a series of project packs that you can use at home.  The packs will follow a theme each week and will come with all of the resources and ingredients that you need to carry out all of the activities. Each Project will come with an information guide with ideas, activities and suggestions, and there will also be a video on our YouTube channel which you can watch by yourself or with the children.

To help you get the most from your new kit, we will be creating weekly ‘Patch Projects’ that you can share with your children. Each project will come with its own bag of resources and will invite your child to explore science and experiments, creative writing and storytelling, maths and measuring, as well as nurturing your family’s wellbeing and connection. There will also be some ideas of things you can do to link to this theme as you go out and about on your walks around your local area.

Each Project will come with an information guide with ideas, activities and suggestions, and there will also be a video on our YouTube channel which you can watch by yourself or with the children.

Like everything we offer at The Patch, these projects are suitable for all ages, and there will be further guidance on how to support these ideas for the younger children and how to extend the possibilities for the older ones.

Our next Patch Project Pack (available from Monday 8th Feb) is all about Gardening, Planting and Wildlife and will include resources, ingredients and guidance on how to...

  • Plant and grow your own Sweet Pea seeds
  • Make a bird feeder using an orange and some bird seed
  • Make another bird feeder using skewers, cheerios and any left over fruit from home
  • Make a worm puppet who pops out of his own little house
  • Design a bird puppet who is on the look-out for worms
  • Write a letter to a friend or relative, or even to our very own Patch Mouse
  • Learn about a "sit spot" and create one in your garden or local park or woodland
  • Use the bird identification sheet to see which feathery freinds visit your garden this week
  • Design a flag for your "sit spot" or use it for marking our your den
  • Use the sound bingo card to see what you can hear on your local walks and adventures

You can order your kit by visiting the booking site www.bookwhen.com/thepatch, and the sets will be available for collection from Monday 8th Feb. Each Patch Project pack will cost £15 and contains everything you need to carry out all of the tasks and activities.

Each pack will contain enough resources for your family to do each activity once.  The packs will also include a full list of everything we included so you can always replace any popular items should you wish to do the activities again.
